Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, a paediatrician and a clinical psychologist working at Children’s Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam has been involved in a number of research studies over the past decade with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

Since 2012, she has collaborated with OUCRU in scientific research on the mental development of children with ear, foot and mouth disease. Since 2015, she has been working in the Public and Community Engagement Unit at OUCRU and conducted a mental health survey (in two phases) of healthcare workers at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Phase one (in 2016), surveyed employee frequency and levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, and Phase two (in 2018) evaluated interventions to reduce stress and depression levels of healthcare workers at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. She speaks further about the methods, research context, the challenges and findings of the exploration into the experience of stress, anxiety and depression amongst Healthcare workers at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
