Ethical communication of research results to participants in community-based qualitative research is often ignored. We explore ethical issues in giving study findings to members of a rural South African community organization. To be accountable, results should be shared and presented in a way that respects their perspectives. These actions, which we refer to as "accountability practices" or "taking-it-back practices," may not be accurately defined by existing conventions.
